Virgin Radio UK Multicast

Virgin Radio UK Logo

The Virgin Radio UK global multicast stream is provided as an experimental service by the University of Southampton with permission from Virgin Radio. For more information about this radio station, visit http://www.virginradio.co.uk/.

Both global IPv4 (GLOP) and IPv6 (Embedded RP) versions of the stream are available:

The paramaters for the multicast streams are:

UDP Port: 5004
Payload Type: RTP/AVP
RTP Payload ID: 14 (audio/mpa)
Audio Format MPEG-1 Layer 2, 48 kHz, Stereo

To listen to the stream, you need a multicast enabled audio player. Here is a list of players that are known to work:
